The ASR Magnetic Performance Sunglass has magnets in each arm, allowing it to be stored conveniently on metal surfaces when not being worn. The frame is made of TR90 NZZ, which is lightweight flexible & impact resistant.  It meets all ANSI Z87.1 standards for safety.   All lens options are shatterproof polycarbonate and 100% UVA & UVB protective.  The photochromic clear to smoke super dark lens changes in to a true dark smoke when exposed to UV light. All ASR Magnet sunglasses come with a folding case and microfiber bag.

First the negative, the glasses do not transition to super dark. Closer to a smoked lens. Otherwise the glasses have a nice feel. They fit well and wrap the eyes nicely.

      Hey Casey,

Would you like us to refund the difference and send a regular smoke lens? There are a lot of variables that go into the lenses transitioning and we’ve tested them every which was and they definitely get darker than a smoke lens. However, if they don’t do what you expected I want to make sure you feel like you got your moneys worth. Email admin@epocheyewear.com or call 844-239-6252 and we’ll take care of you. –Rebecca

First of all, Great glasses. I bought these hoping I could find some sunglasses I could wear with my half helmet and contacts without foam. I am happy to say they they worked great, no problems with tears at 70 mph and the superdark Transition lenses are fantastic. The magnetic frames are a cool addition and allow them to hang on my tank when not in use. I do wish the frames were a tad more comfortable like my raybans but i may just need to get used to them. I love that some of the proceeds go to support our vets. Great motorcycle glasses.

I love Adam and all that he does for Veterans and the Biking community, but I was very disappointed in these $200.00 glasses. The frames are way too big, the transition lenses do not get very dark (smoke at best), the nose rest is not comfortable, and they shake on my head. I have worn them with my Crazy Al’s half helmet, and my Shoei Neotec II full face helmet, both are uncomfortable. I wore them for about 2 weeks, and now they just sit in my saddle bag in their really nice case. I like the magnets, and the finishes, but the performance of these glasses are seriously lacking for $200.00.

      Hey Eric,

I am so sorry to hear you’re not happy with your sunglasses. If we could replace them with the lifestyle frame, you may like the fit better. If at the end of trying a new style we just didn’t get it right for you we’d be happy to refund your purchase. $200 is an expensive sunglass and we’ll do whatever we can to make sure you’re happy with what you spent your money on. Email sales@epocheyewear.com or call 844-239-6252 and we’ll take care of you! Thanks for letting us know. –Rebecca

I have both the performance and the lifestyle glasses, which I originally purchased the performance with the transition lenses. My thoughts were to only carry one pair of glasses on my bike (which is what I do currently). I love the magnetic arms, however like most are saying the lenses do not seem to get as dark as I would like. I doubt that I will ever order another set of transitions, it seems to be a problem with the style of lenses not the manufacturer. When I purchased my performance glasses they were slow to ship, through communications with Danielle at Epoch Eyewear, she kept me updated and ended up sending me a pair of the lifestyle glasses. I never asked for them she offered them to me, I just wanted the ones I had ordered. I am so glad that she sent them!! The Lifestyle frames just fit me better and are more comfortable to me. I will absolutely be buying my new glasses from Epoch! I have worn Oakleys for years and I find Epoch to be just as well built and there customer service is second to none!

So I promised a review and here it is: I bought the glasses at the first of they year. I am extremely picky when it comes to glasses so it took me a minute to find these, and as I follow Adam and Scooter on Social Media, hence is how I found these. By far the greatest thing about these glasses is the magnetic pieces, historically when I drop my glasses, it is always when fueling the bike and have laid them on the seat or somewhere that they slide off.

I have what seems to be a pretty wide head, so most glasses are just way to small, I didn’t find any reference to sizing, but the great customer service at Epoch gave me some feedback so I ordered. I ordered the non transition pair, the reason why is one I like yellow lenses at night and two in all of Adam’s social media post, I seem him manually changing from one pair of sunglasses to a second clear set. As it appears Adam is more about function, to me, it just meant he wasn’t a fan of the transitions. This is me reading into his post, nothing he said himself.

When I initially un-boxed everything, the package was very visually appeasing; however, function didn’t seem to be there for me. I like the flat box design and see how it would save space, but as I carry an old zip style hard case, I chose to continue to use it as when it has something in it, yellow’s or dark it takes up less space. There is really no difference here other than my conception of the box. I’m not carrying two cases and I like the zip better, personal choice.

The cleaning rag that came with it, seems to be pretty useless, the design embedded makes it stick rather than slide, of course we all have multiples of these laying around so no big deal.

My first impression of the glasses was I really liked red on black; however, I am way not a fan of the large logo, specifically because it is somewhat chromed on otherwise a beautiful set of matte glasses. I also can’t stand a hat that is backwards, personal preference but no bearing, I have thought about painting the logo, but just haven’t got around to it. I think a forward slated ASR would look better, once again, my personal opinion and Adam’s logo is his, neither wrong or right, just what we each prefer.

Fitment, a “bit” small but not bad, small meaning the could be a bit wider, they fit me almost like a pair of goggles would, but the the shortness in width does keep them from resting correctly on my nose, something I just manually fix when needed, at this point I don’t even notice fixing them. I will add that I typically wear the larger Wiley X or Oakley’s, these were not that far off and are not uncomfortable by any means, matter of fact I like the fit, but do wish for a bit more width.

Since purchasing these, I have put a few thousand miles on the bike to include a 3K road trip. They have been comfortable for both the bar hoping days and the long rides, typically if I am wearing glasses all day, I start getting a headache due to the pressure behind my ears, I also wear a bandanna under my helmet, which may help cause that. With these I did not experience that at all, even on back to back 12 hours days. It was nice to get off the bike after a long day and not have the headache from sunglasses.

Wear, the lenses do not seem to be as “tough” as others I have owned, taking bugs, road gravel, anything else that has hit them. They seemed to have scratched somewhat easy and for a $150 pair of glasses that is disappointing. The comparable will be about 2 – 3 years and many more thousands of miles, my last pair of Oakley lenses looked like the surface of a golf ball when I finally broke them. So we will see how they hold up.

Cleaning, they don’t seem to want to clean as easily as other glasses I have had, it takes a real effort to ensure the total lens is completely clean, once again something I have gotten use to and maybe I just don’t clean them right.

Overall I am happy with the glasses and would buy them again, if for nothing else the magnetic ear pieces. The 4 stars and lack of the 5 is purely based on, lens toughness (maybe that bug hit harder than I thought) and fit.

I would absolutely recommend these to riding buddies and buy them again – Tim

I was really excited for these glasses, unfortunately they didn’t live up to my expectations.
First off these glasses appear to be really well built however they are extremely tight on my head, to the point it hurts to wear them.
Also the magnets in pair seem to be very weak, I tried these on a many surfaces that I know to be magnetic and most of the time the magnet wouldn’t even hold it up on a stationary object, I was too fearful to try them on a moving motorcycle.

    • Rebecca Milner

Hi Christian, Where did you purchase the sunglasses? If you bought them from us, I’d be happy to exchange or refund them. If they truly don’t hold I’d like a chance to test them myself and send them back to the manufacturer. I’ll send you an email and we’ll find a solution to make sure you’re satisfied with your purchase or get a refund.

Tried to clean and marked the inside now are useless need to be able to buy replacement lens

    • Rebecca Milner

Craig, we’ll send an email and take care of you. Sorry you had a problem with the lenses! We always recommend using water and a microfiber cloth. Different fabrics can be abrasive and anything with a chemical in it can break down the coatings. We’ll take care of you though! Thanks for letting us know.

First pair replaced. Second pair no better. They do not darken to smoke. Slightly darker than clear, a best. They are comfortable and block wind pretty well, but I have to carry two pairs of glasses, these for dusk and dark, another for full sunlight.

I’ve had a pair of transitions for two weeks now. I’m happy with the quality of frames, very well built and fit perfectly with great wrap around. There is a little bit of wind that comes through the bridge, but it’s manageable. Like some of these other reviews, however, I’m a bit disappointed in the performance of the lenses themselves. They don’t get very dark at all. I don’t know if the conditions haven’t been right but I’m in AZ and I imagine it’s sunny enough here to get the lenses to their darkest. Also, for polycarbonate lenses they scratch pretty easily even using a microfiber lens cloth. Luckily they’re not noticeable when actually wearing them. Overall, I’m more happy with them than not. They get dark enough in the day time to take the edge off and it’s nice not having to switch to a pair of clears as it gets dark.
